National Eagle Scout Association
Arthur R. Eldred Chapter
Overview
The National Eagle Scout Association (NESA) helps Eagle Scouts stay in touch with Scouting and hear positive stories about how Scouting transforms the lives of youth through developing their leadership skills, character, citizenship, and physical fitness. The Association offers alumni networking, service opportunities, and educational scholarships for Eagles Scouts.
The local Chapter is named after Arthur R. Eldred, the first Eagle Scout who was awarded the coveted distinction on September 2, 1912 as a member of Troop 1 in Rockville Centre.
Events & Activities
The Arthur R. Eldred Chapter supports Eagle Scout related activities in Nassau County. The Chapter’s committee holds regular meetings, arranges educational outings for members, hosts social networking events, coordinates the Council’s Annual Eagle Scout Recognition & Hall of Fame Dinner, and more.
The Chapter also serves as a resource to parents and loved ones planning Eagle Scout Court of Honor ceremonies. NESA members often advise on invitations to local government officials, the ceremony’s program, guest speakers, as well as loaning custom made Eagle Scout Badge Stands as décor for the occasion and sending representatives from the Chapter to present the new Eagle Scout(s) with certificates recognizing their accomplishment.
