Refund Policy

To keep overall program and activity costs affordable and access to activities equitable for all, the Council has a general no refund policy. In limited circumstances a partial refund or credit may be issued after considering participant program costs and staff expenses.

Substitute Participant

If you or your Scout are unable to attend or participate in a previously registered event, you are encouraged to identify a potential replacement and work out a mutually agreeable reimbursement arrangement on an individual basis. If you identify a substitute, you should contact Council to update the on-site registration list name, within 48 hours prior to the start of the event.

Hardship and Medical Requests
  • Exemptions to the refund policy will be considered on a limited basis. We will review requests for refunds for medical reasons when the attendee can furnish a letter from a qualified medical professional documenting inability to participate or for other reasons, such as a death in the family.
  • In cases where the individual registration cost exceeds $100 (e.g., OSR Summer Camp, Wood Badge, NYLT, vacation STEM camps) a partial credit may be issued toward a future event in lieu of a financial refund.
Cancelled Events

Refunds or future credit will be offered for any event or activity that is not held or cancelled.

BSA National Refund Policy

As stated on the BSA application, the national annual registration fee is nonrefundable. This includes any new member fees. In addition, Council Program fees are nonrefundable.
