Workplace & Matching Programs

Workplace giving and matching programs are sponsored by many companies to encourage charitable donations by employees and to award employee volunteerism. These programs provide Scouting families with an easy way to enhance Friends of Scouting contributions, by matching contributions dollar for dollar and sometimes even tripling your gift. In addition, many companies also recognize employee volunteer time to local charities, by providing local grants to your charity of choice.

The Theodore Roosevelt Council, Scouting America is often an eligible recipient of types of programs. Our staff will work with you to answer any questions, complete necessary documentation, and verify your support.  Please note that corporate gifts will support Scouting programs across Nassau County and cannot be designated for individual Scouting units, specific Scouts, or other groups.

Matching Gifts

Employee matching gift programs are corporate giving programs in which the company matches donations made by employees to eligible nonprofit organizations. Most companies will match gift amounts of $25.00 to $10,000, or more. In some cases, companies will even triple gifts. Contact your Human Resources department to secure paperwork to submit to the Theodore Roosevelt Council, with your contribution. We will take care of the rest!

Volunteer Grant Programs

Volunteer grant programs are corporate giving programs in which companies provide monetary donations to organizations often in recognition of volunteer service hours completed.

If you are a Scouting volunteer such as a merit badge counselor, unit leader, or committee member you may qualify. Grants can be anywhere from $25.00 to $5,000, or more. Contact your Human Resources department to learn more.

How do I request a matching gift or volunteer grant?

Requesting a matching gift or volunteer grant is normally a five-minute process and must be initiated by the donor/volunteer. You can do this by filling out and submitting a paper match form provided by your employer or through an electronic submission process.
